Marion Koopman CGO GroupM EMEA

Marion Koopman (CEO Greenhouse) takes on a leading role within GroupM EMEA

As Chief Growth Officer, Koopman – in addition to her role at Greenhouse –  will be responsible for innovation, transformation and connection within GroupM EMEA.

From July, Koopman will combine her role as CEO at Greenhouse with the role of CGO within GroupM EMEA. She will be responsible for the definition of the growth vision, and its strategic implementation, in collaboration with the various agencies and responsible EXCOs in the countries. The integration of GroupM services and specialties in the fields of data, technology, creative optimization, automation and artificial intelligence plays an important role in this.

As CEO of Greenhouse, Koopman has led the specialized online marketing agency from 50 to 500 employees in 7 years, and established a successful integration and collaboration with the GroupM media agencies. Greenhouse has developed into one of the leading marketing and media companies in the Netherlands. Last year Greenhouse was awarded Digital Agency of the Year at the annual AMMA ceremony.

Greenhouse’s innovative strength and ability to connect and strengthen various other business within the network has in addition to the impressive growth not gone unnoticed. The desire from GroupM/WPP to apply this knowledge and experience internationally is great.

Demet Ikiler, CEO GroupM EMEA: “People that have worked with Marion know that two of her greatest attributes are her ability to grow strong partnerships and to solve business challenges for the company and clients. I’m delighted she’ll be joining the EMEA leadership team to help GroupM grow all over the region.”

Marion Koopman: “After 7 years in The Netherlands, I look forward to broaden my horizon literally and figuratively. It is an amazing opportunity to fulfill this position and at the same time continue to lead Greenhouse. Greenhouse has a strong leadership team surrounded by fantastic talented people, by whom I feel supported to make this step. And by staying involved with Greenhouse I have the opportunity to include all knowledge, expertise and ideas from the Netherlands in my new international role."

With this appointment, a Dutch businesswoman will play an important role within the worldwide communication network of WPP. An important signal that the Netherlands is still at the forefront of digital media, innovation and cooperation.
